The Southern Division Conference was held at the Robina Community Centre on Saturday 16th March.  An excellent day and some great speakers and presenters.

Our Club was represented by Brett and Pat in the International and Humorous Contests.  The pair acquitted themselves well and did us proud and while we didn't bring home any major silverware we gained something much better, experience and the desire to get our hands on that silverware next time!

Well done you two and congratulations to those who came and supported.  A great day for all.

Our Tall Tales Contest was held on 27th February and was a resounding success.  We had an experienced external panel of judges who congratulated our club organising committee, for delivering an excellent humorous contest.

We had five contestants who fought fiercely for the title of the Tall Tales Teller of 2019........

 Our intrepid contestants Laura, Rod, Brett, Maureen and Pat, with Andre the Contest Toastmaster on the right.  Well done to all.

Our winners were: Pat: First Place, Maureen Second Place and Rod Third Place.  Great effort by each to gain the treasured title.

This was a really fun-filled evening.

Don't forget our annual Tall Tales Contest for Club Members will be held on the above date.

Please come and support those members competing even if you are not entering. 

I can promise you from past experience this will be another hilarious evening.

What an exciting meeting we had last Wednesday evening with 28 persons attending!

Thank you to Lisa for her speech on Keeping Us Motivated and to Macalie for another tear-jerking speech.

Maureen kept us on our toes all evening with her quirky stories about the objects she loves and keeps......great topic for the meeting.

Our last meeting for this calendar year was held at Nerang RSL on 12th December. The event was well patronised by members, their partners and we also welcomed a some of the members from the BeChange Toastmasters Club.

An evening of good fun, good food, good company and a teasing Christmas Quiz.

Congratulations go to Roy on completing his Competent Communicator Award speech. As usual the speech was well delivered with a number of twists and a call to arms. The speech was entitled 'Release Your Inner Mongrel' and a few members tried to do just that [particularly during the Secret Santa Session].

Katya from BeChange entertained us with a number of politically incorrect scenarios and Laura and Andre supervised a noisy Secret Santa session.

A great way to spend an evening.

One of the best things about finding new members is we get to hear their ICEBREAKER Speeches BUT we also get that privilege again when we change track and start on the new Pathways Program.

So we have just enjoyed ICEBREAKER Speeches from Ralph and Laura treated us to her second on 28th November.  Congratulations to you both and well done.

What a great evening of fun and frivolity with Maureen 'Producing' two of her now infamous Thank God You Are Here episodes.

The first being the 'Wrong Funeral" and the second being the 'Vet Interview'.

Our 2018 A34 Conference has come and gone and what an eventful day it was.

Congratulations to our Area Director Ursula for organising an excellent day. 

Congratulations to all Southport members who attended and helped out.  In particular thank you Viv and Maureen for a great job with preparing and presenting food for so many people, a job really well done.

Congratulations to the contestants, Brett, Viv [two contests] and Pat.  Of the four contests held on the day, we won two first places and a second.......a very creditable performance on behalf of our club.
