We had our Educational Evening on 29th May 2019.
Workshops were held on Success with Evaluations and Impromptu Speaking run by Laura and Pat.
Many ideas were exchanged and with practical demonstrations members gleaned and trialled ideas to be used in their future speaking roles.
Yet another fun night. Well done to all who attended and participated.

Annually we hold our poetry contests in honour of the memory of Syd Phillips who was a poetry fanatic and member of Southport Toastmasters for some 27 years. Sadly we lost Syd five years ago but we often think fondly of him and particularly on this night.

Come One, Come All!
Club officer elections will be held at our meeting on 15th May, so I invite all members to be in attendance for this important event. This will afford you the opportunity to have your say on who will be leading this club forward for the next year and to witness the pageantry that goes with the elections.
We do have nominations for a number of the positions but we are in need of some more members stepping up. This is an excellent opportunity to gain/learn some new skills and to also expand on your existing leadership skills. Do consider nominating regardless of how long you have been a member, as free training is given to all the committee members for their precise roles and note, this training is fully transferable into your working careers too .

Yet another entertaining evening our meeting of 17th April turned out to be.
Laura regaled us on the nuances of Easter with her intriguing 'Just A Minute' session. Well done to all the volunteers.
Ralph enlightened us about the joys of owning a Great Dane puppy....hope you get the iPhone back!!!
Macalie convinced us that we really need a rubber ducky in our lives!
And Pat took us on a 7 minute impromptu journey so that we all can jump in whenever our VPE calls on us for a speech at short notice.

What a lively meeting we held this week.
Maureen started her Pathways journey with an hilarious ICEBREAKER.....well done!
We all ended up in the birthing suite too many times but it was very humorous.....perhaps we should salute all the mums out there!
Damian took us to Tasmania to meet his family and friends; another great speech with a clear message. Thanks Damian and we are glad you are here with us.
And we went home with some flying pigs!!!
