Wow! We have been so lucky in getting  ICEBREAKER Speeches [a new members first speech] recently.

Congratulations to Shane, who took us to Ireland; to Anthea who also took us to Dublin and to Cindy who took us to Sydney and Japan.  Excellent start for their first attempt and starting their public speaking careers. 

We wish you well for the future and you have already shown that you have what it takes to overcome the fear of public speaking!

We are so looking forward to hearing your next speeches.

The Area 34 Speech Contests and Conferce was held on Saturday 2nd November 2019 at the Helensvale Community Centre.  The theme for the conference was 'Anything Is Possible' and our club representatives proved that to be true.

We were represented in three of the four events being the Evaluation, Table Topics and International Speech Contests. James Ivory won the Evaluation Contest for us. Trent Visser won the Table Topics Contest for us and Macalie Adamson won the International Contest for us.

Well done to each and evry one of you.  We are all extremely proud of you and we wish you every success in March when you will once again represent not only our club but also Area 34 at the Southern Division Conference.

Our strong tradition of being the Best Toastmasters Club on the Gold Coast lives on in you!

The second round of our Speech Contests were held on Wednesday 9th October and were a huge success.  The first contest of the evening was the Table Topics Contest and what a lot of fun the members had when they tussled with the topic ' What Is More Important Winning or Sportsmanship?'  Everyone did the topic justice but the judges liked the treatment rent gave it best.  Well done to all for stepping up.

The first two of our six speech contest were held at the last meeting on 25th September. The two contests were the Speech Evaluation and Humorous Contests.

Congratulations to both Liam and Laura on collecting our perpetual trophies this year.  These were presented at our Changeover Dinner Meeting on 26th June 2019.

Our annual Committee Changeover Dinner meeting was held at the Nerang RSL Club. This was held jointly with the BeChange Toastmasters Club.

Great evening, with entertainment provided by BeChange members with their Passion Pit Singers [who are not about to give up their Day Jobs!] but who are most entertaining.

We had a CC Speech given by Tony.  Congratulations Tony a job well done.  Table Topics hosted by Rob and indeed most entertaining.  Novie took us into the world of Sales of Useless Objects.  The changeover ceremonies were performed by Alicia our Area 24 Director and Valerie our Southern Division Director.  Well done to you both.
